Searching for Joseph's parents I find on FamilySearch.org that there are two candidates:
Joseph CHRIMES baptised 25 March 1814 Warrington Lancashire Parents: Joseph and Ann
Joseph CHRIMES baptised 4 June 1813 Warrington Lancashire Parents: John and Ann
The 1937 marriage record (Lancashire Online Parish Clerk (OPC)) does not give the groom's father's name and the witnesses are both HEATHs, but ...
The 1856 marriage record on "England and Wales Marriages 1538 - 1940" gives Joseph's father's name as Joseph, which means that Joseph's parents were Joseph and Ann.
Further research shows that the two fathers Joseph and John were in fact brothers, so the two Joseph's shared the same grandparents.
Joseph married twice. In 1837 he married Harriet HEATH at Warrington, They had 7 children.
Harriet died in 1854 at the age of 38.
Joseph re-married to Margaret Rigby MALLET in 1856 at Warrington and had a further 7 children.
From The Bolton Chronicle of 9 February 1856: "Marriages On the 29th ult., at St. James's Church, Latchford, Warrington, by the Rev. James Wright, incumbent, assisted by the Rev. Thos. Lowe, incumbent of St. Paul's, Warrington, Joseph Chrimes, Esq., mayor of Warrington, to Margaret, eldest daughter of Mr. Councillor Mallet, Paragon-place, Warrington, formerly of Bolton."
The 1861 census includes children from his first and his second marriages.
From The London Gazette of 1 August 1845: "Notice is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore subsisting and carried on by us the undersigned, at Warrington, in the County of Lancaster, as Skip and Hamper Makers was this day dissolved by mutual consent. All debts owing to or from the late partnership will be paid or received by the undersigned Joseph Chrimes, by whom the business will for the future be carried on.... Signed James Davies and Joseph Chrimes."
Joseph was mayor of Warrington for two terms in the 1850's.
Joseph was initiated into the "Lodge of Lights" Lodge of Freemasons at Warrington, Lancashire on 28 October 1850 and subsequently joined the Ellesmere Lodge at Runcorn, Cheshire on 9 October 1858.
Joseph's Proving of Will record reads: "CHRIMES Joseph 19 April [1869] The Will of Joseph Chrimes late of Warrington in the County of Lancaster Brewer deceased who died 1 February 1869 at Warrington aforesaid was proved at Liverpool by the oath of Joseph Harrison of Latchford in the County of Chester Gentleman one of the Executors. Effects under £3,000"
Joseph appears in the Index to Death Duty Registers dated 1869.
A notice in The London Gazette of 25 June 1869 seeks claimants to Joseph's estate and refers to him as "Alderman Joseph Chrimes, ...Common Brewer, Cooper, and Basket, Skip and Hamper Manufacturer".
Joseph's gravestone inscription reads: "In memory of Joseph Chrimes an Alderman of the Borough of Warrington who died Feby. 1st. 1869 aged 54 years".
