I cannot find a birth record for Ellen. In the 1881 UK Census Ellen was declared as "Mate's Wife". Ellen was admitted to Mill Road Hospital (West Derby Union Workhouse) on 29 December 1902, described as 'Hus. Henry, a Mariner'. She was suffering from 'Menorrhagia'. She was discharged on 3 January 1903 'Improved'. In the 1921 England Census Ellen, widow, was 'Head' of her household, with her daughter Nellie Gertrude and son-in-law Albert Spearman LEWIS also resident. |
