There are Births Index records for William CRIMES born Salford 1895 Q1 and 1896 Q1. The 1896 record is assigned to this William because the 1895 record has been assigned to the "other" William, based on 1921 England Census data. I cannot find William in the 1901 England Census. William died whilst serving as a Private in WWI. William's Commonwealth War Graves record reads: "CRIMES, Pte. William, W/66884. 23rd Works Coy. The King's Liverpool Reg., transf. to (112036) 60th Coy. Labour Corps. 23rd May 1918. Age 21. Son of Elijah and Kathrine Crimes, of Salford; husband of Martha Kelly (formerly Crimes), of 7, Tattley St., Liverpool St., Salford, Manchester. E. 45." |
