William was admitted to Hoole All Saints' And Westminister Road School, Chester on 28 August 1905. Previous school "Westr. Infs." He left school on 31 January 1913 "To Work". In 1921 William Henry was 'Out of Work' but had previously been employed by Hydraulic Engineering Foundry Co. of Charles St., Chester. The 1924 marriage is described on the wrexham.gov.uk website as "Wrexham, Civil Marriage" but a non-conformist religious ceremony is more likely. Following the death of his first wife Edith Emily in 1967, William Henry re-married later that year. From The Cheshire Observer of 9 July 1986: "MR. W.H. CRIMES The death occured at the Countess of Chester Hospital on 1st July of the retired haulage contractor Mr. William Henry Crimes aged 87 of 6 Pensby Avenue, Upton Park. During the First World War, Mr. Crimes served with the Artillery Mounted Division. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Phyllis Crimes. The funeral was held at Blacon Crematorium on 4th July. Donations were received for Cancer Research." William Henry's Grant of Probate reads: "CRIMES, William Henry of 6 Pensby Av Upton Park Chester died 30 June 1986 Probate Liverpool 27 October." |
