From The Manchester Evening News of 13 April 1946: "5 Youths on 'Breaking' charge after Car Chase - Arrested after a motor-car chase from Preston to Walkden by a Lancashire Constabulary road patrol, five youths appeared in the dock at the Manchester City Magistrates' Court to-day and were remanded in custody to await police escort to Fleetwood on a charge of warehouse breaking. They were: ....Bradley....McNight...Dunkerley....Thomas... and George Frederick Chrimes, aged 17, Charles-street, Littleborough. Detective-sergeant Thomas Hardy said that the accused were charged with taking and driving away a motor-car from a Manchester car park. He alleged that after driving to Blackpool and Fleetwood they returned to Manchester and were arrested on the East Lancashire road after the car in which they were travelling was forced into the side of the road by a police patrol car." From The Manchester Evening News of 5 January 1948: "Retaken - Frederick George Chrimes, aged 18, of Rochdale, who escaped from a Rochdale institution, has been recaptured." A notice of bankruptcy in The London Gazette of 8 September 1967 reads: "CHRIMES, George Frederick, residing at 13 Marne Crescent, Spotland, Rochdale, in the county of Lancaster, Property Repairer, formerly carrying on business at 25, Jutland Avenue, Spotland, Rochdale and 47 Bury Road, Rochdale aforesaid, as a PAINTER and DECORATOR ...
