Arthur Stanley 'CRIMES' gave evidence at the trial of a driver fined for causing an accident near Newcastle-under-Lyne, Staffordshire in 1932. He was described as 'of Warrington' and had been driving a lorry. From The Chester Chronicle of 11 January 1941: "A KELSALL BRIDE The Rev. G.S. Payne performed the ceremony at the wedding at St. Peter's Church, Delamere, of Mr. Arthur Stanley Chrimes, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Chrimes, "Newlands", Norley, and Miss Ada Gore, youngest daughter of the late Mr. J. Gore and of Mrs. Gore, Kelsall. The bride, give away by her brother, Driver E. Gore, R.C.O.C., was in a mist blue dress under a grey boucle cloth coat trimmed with squirrel fur; she had a spray of orchids, and carried a Prayer Book, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaid, Miss Joyce Parry, was in a blue coat with grey trimmings, and had a dress and hat to tone. She wore a bracelet, the bridegroom's gift. Mr. S.W. Chrimes, R.A.F., bridegroom's brother, was best man. The reception was held at the Toll Bar Cafe, Sandiway." Unfortunately the report does not give the date of the wedding. |
