From The Crewe Guardian of 11 October 1912: "LIVERPOOL ENGINEER SHOOTS HIMSELF .... Harry Chrimes stated that he was driving a cart down Ashton-road, and noticed a motor car standing on the right side. When he returned with the last witness at 9:45, it was still in the same position. With finding the body some distance from the car, he concluded there had been an accident, but on looking more closely, found a revolver in the deceased's right hand, and a wound in his head..." From The Chester Chronicle of 10 March 1917: "INSUFFICIENT LIGHTS A fine of 20s. was imposed on Harry Chrimes, grocer, Norley, for not having two white lights in front of a spring cart at 7.30 p.m., on Feb. 17th. - P.S. An Electoral Register record for 1919 includes Harry on the "Absent Voters" list [Military Service] with the Service Number and Unit: "369903 36th. S. Bty.
