Thomas William was known as Tom. W.r.t. the 1921 England Census, "Cottage House" appears to have been an institution administered by the Chester Board of Guardians, the residents being described as 'Boarder'. In the 1921 England Census Thomas William was attending school 'Whole Time'. In a 1943 'In Memoriam' notice for his brother James, Thomas was described as "brothers Tom (at sea)... " implying that he served in WWII. Thomas William worked his passage as a deck hand on board ship in 1944. |
