Kathleen Mary Tyrer was admitted to St Lawrence Church Of England School, Ludlow on 16 December 1907 but left that school on 10 January 1908. From The Manchester Courier and Lancashire General Advertiser of 16 July 1915: "Manchester High School for Girls ... Foundation Scholarships have also been awarded to ... Kathleen Chrimes, Ludlow High School." Kathleen Mary Tyrer was a British archaeologist and classical scholar. From The Vote of 5 August 1932: "NEWS OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN - Manchester - Miss M.T. Chrimes M.A., has been appointed Special Lecturer in Ancient History." From The Cheltenham Chronicle of 6 August 1932: "SCHOLARS MARRIED AT ECKINGTON - LECTURERS IN THE SAME SUBJECT - QUIET CEREMONY Professor Donald Atkinson and Miss Kathleen Mary Tyrer Chrimes, who each lecture on Greek and Roman ancient history at Manchester University, were quietly married at Eckington Parish Church on Wednesday. The bridegroom, who was the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Atkinson of West Didsbury, Manchester, and of Eckington, is a professor at the university on Greek and Roman ancient history, whilst the bride, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Chrimes of Barton-on-Sea, Hants. is also a lecturer at the University on the same subject. The bride, attired in a blue silk dress with hat to match, was given away by her cousin, Mr. W.H. Tyrer, the town clerk of Wigan, and Mr. J.J. Atkinson, of Derby, accompanied his brother as best man. There were no bridesmaids. The Rev. A. Woodruffe Fletcher (vicar of Eckington), who was formerly a student at Manchester University, officiated. A small company of relatives and friends attended the reception held at the Angel Hotel, Pershore, after which the bride and bridegroom returned to Strensham Mill House, which has been the country home of the Atkinson family for nearly twenty years." Kathleen Mary Tyrer was later Professor (Emeritus) of Ancient History in Queen's University, Belfast.
