From The Chester Chronicle of 17 June 1939: "NESTON PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH WEDDING. MR. C.L. HARDY AND MISS K. CHRIMES. The wedding took place at Neston Presbyterian Church, on Saturday, of Miss Kathleen Chrimes, only daughter of Mr. W. Chrimes and of the late Mrs. Chrimes, Hinderton-road, Neston, and Mr. Charles Leslie Hardy, youngest son of the late Mr. W. Hardy and of Mrs. Hardy, "The Folds" Thornton Hough. The bridegroom is a member of a well-known local family, and himself is a well-known sportsman. He is a member of the staff of Lever Bros., Port Sunlight, and plays Association football for the Port Sunlight 1st. XI in the I. Zingari League. Formerly he played for Tranmere Rovers and Thornton Hough A.F.C. He is also a good tennis player. The bride was formerly a ladies' hairdresser and was employed for several years at Brymor Hairdressing Salon, Neston.... A reception was held at the bridegroom's home at Thornton Hough." |
